lyrics

It's The Little Things

I am not a fool prone to flying off the handle
And I am not so bored that i have to cause a scandal
But I might punch the wall in a rage that's been growing
I keep it inside without ever known

I'm doing the best I can without my innocence
When I could take it in stride and use it as my defense

But it's the little things that makes me nuts
The everyday scrapes and cuts that just tear me up

I'm doing the best I can living with the bomb
Even when they alienate every you and me citizen Tom

I try to hold my tongue around joking racial bigots
But I know they've been too long drinking from a poison spigot
I find it alarming how little we show we care
It makes me stop and wonder why do we make life so unfair

Im doing the best I can to improve my attitude
Sometimes it comes easy sometimes I come unglued
I carry the world with me upon my new wrist watch TV

But it's the little things that makes me nuts
The everyday scrapes and cuts that just tear me up

about

Jeff Smith Virginia

Inspired and influenced by early country, blues, rock and pop
Jeff Smith writes songs and tells elongated and elliptical stories about them. Jeff's Appalachian drawl slides in and around his guitar playing and Smith says “on a good night the stories and songs swing on top of a funky kind of country blues pop stomp”. Now residing in the swamps of Virginia, Smith performs club gigs and
concerts.
